Two Promotions and Counting
Account Manager, Matthew Waites, is based in our Ipswich office. Matthew has been with us since 2018 and his dedication and hard work has now lead to another promotion - to Service Manager - heading up our Ipswich Division. Here, we ask him about his experience, since he first started working with JCW:
How did you hear about the position with the company?
I responded to an advertisement online. The role I initially applied for was part-time which worked brilliantly around my family commitments at the time – whilst my children were still very young.
Why did you choose JCW?
I had applied for a number of part time roles and JCW were the first to invite me in for an interview.
I didn’t know much about the industry but after my interview I knew I wanted to work for the company. I had a really good feeling about the team and the role and, even though the hours were initially 3 days per week, I felt there was potential for a rewarding long-term career.
Luckily, they felt the same and I was offered the job. I cancelled my other interviews and accepted straight away!
How have JCW helped your career?
Where do I start? The company has always been flexible and generous. I worked a short week to begin with and, over time, increased my hours to suit my availability and the needs of the business.
I accepted a promotion after a couple of years which saw my hours grow. More recently I accepted another promotion and am now full-time in a management role.
The Senior Management team have offered excellent hands-on training and really helped me develop my potential.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
It’s definitely about the team for me - I work with great people. I like being in the office and having support and feedback when the workload is busy or challenging.
Would you recommend JCW and why?
Absolutely. JCW is a forward-thinking company and employer. They’ve provided me with huge opportunity and I feel that my efforts are always appreciated and rewarded.
