A Leap of Faith

July 2020 Update | Finally - She Jumped!

Back in January we wrote about our Administrator, Chris who was preparing to jump out of a plane for charity. The jump was originally postponed due to adverse weather conditions and then, of course, Covid-19. But we are pleased to confirm that, on the 18th July 2020, Chris finally completed her first ever sky dive - successfully, thank goodness! Chris said:

“This was the most exhilarating experience – absolutely loved every minute of it!”

Chris would like to thank everyone who sponsored her including Electric Centre and ERF Electrical. She raised over £500 for St Peter’s Hospice while also ticking off one more item from her bucket list. Chris in Peru

With Christmas a distant memory and New Year resolutions already a little shaky, we are back to work and looking forward to the year ahead. For most, it will be business as usual, both at work and home, for others though, 2020 is an opportunity to do more, achieve more and with that, bring a sense of fulfillment.

Ticking Off the Bucket List

That is very true for our Administrator, Chris. Chris reached a milestone age last year and decided to draw up her bucket list, the first item of which she has already achieved, which was to go solo on a trek of Peru, including a visit to Macho Pichu and a couple of nights in the jungle on Tambopapta River.

Even with her amazing number one adventure ticked off the list, her determination has not waivered and this leap year, Chris is preparing herself for number two - the leap of faith.

Raising Funds for Charity

Yes, on the 29th February 2020, Chris will be jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet. Not only that, she wants to raise £500 for charity for doing it and has chosen to support St Peter’s Hospice.

St Peter’s Hospice cares for adults who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting or terminal illness. They aim to improve the quality of their living and dying, while extending crucial care and support to their families and loved ones.

We asked Chris why she chose this charity:

“I wanted to support St Peter’s Hospice because my best friends close family member was cared for here and the staff made the last few weeks of his life far more comfortable and dignified. Not only that, the care also extended out to support the whole family, of which we are all so grateful for.”

Fear of Heights

Chris will be jumping with skydive.buzz who arrange this exhilarating free-fall which, combined with the peace and tranquillity of the parachute ride, will make this tandem skydiving an experience that Chris will never forget, all while raising money for a very worthy cause.

And how is Chris feeling with the run up to this experience?

“Not only is this jump to raise money for a worthy cause but I will also be facing a huge fear of heights. To say I am nervous would be an understatement, but I am also very excited and have a full supply of pampers at the ready!”

We want to wish Chris all the best for her jump next month and can’t wait to find out what is number 3 on her bucket list!
