National Emergency Light Maintenance Services
Emergency light maintenance and inspections
Emergency lighting, is lighting for an unforeseen situation when the main power supply is cut and normal illumination fails. This may lead to sudden darkness and a possible danger to staff and customers, either through physical danger or mental distress. The purpose of emergency lighting is to allow work continuity or in worst-case scenarios, safe evacuation of staff and/or public.
Here at JCW we recognise the importance for safety of people first and foremost, and secondly continuity of work. We look after a range of premise types within sectors that have varied requirements from open premises that the public are coming and going, to complex buildings with high security clearance for access.
Emergency lighting are a must-have for non-domestic properties to provide a safe environment for premise users. Under the Fire Safety Order and health and safety legislation, it is a legal requirement for all commercial properties to be a safe environment at all times, even when the mains fails. Emergency lighting is required to operate fully automatically and give illumination of a sufficiently high level to enable all occupants to evacuate the premises safely. Regular testing of the system is a regulatory requirement. JCW not only manage the periodic maintenance of emergency lighting for our clients, we also have in-house design and installation capability to plan and manage your lighting projects.
Emergency light service and testing
JCW recognise the paramount importance of life safety system maintenance. To ensure these systems remain at full operational capacity, essential service plans should be in place. These service plans usually include routine testing and if faults found: the replacement of consumable items such as lamps and spare parts. JCW's qualified engineers can conduct regular inspections and testing of your emergency light systems and verify the design of the installation to current British Standards, any abnormalities and luminaires failing to operate which will be recorded and a remedial report provided.
If you are interested in finding out more about the legislation or to discuss more about a maintenance plan to suit your property type: retail or commercial, public facing or high security; JCW have your solution here, call us on 03333 58 58 58 or fill out an enquiry form on our Contact us page.
