Supporting Local Junior Football Team Lutterworth FC
JCW are committed to investing in a sustainable future for our employees, local community, our suppliers and the environment. Our working activities may directly or indirectly contribute to change in our local communities or environment and we are conscious this change should be for the better.
JCW’s open book culture applies not only to our contract management style, but also we encourage and welcome when our staff approach us about opportunities to sponsor, improve or educate within the local community. When our Leicester installations engineer, Scott, approached us regarding supporting the local junior football club that his young son attends, we thought this was a great opportunity.
We understand the difficulties when it comes to securing funds for a local football club, due to limited resources and support from local authorities. To us, supporting a youth football team is an excellent way to give back to the community. It helps promote physical activity among children and adults alike and encourages people to come together around a common interest. This season we have chosen to support Lutterworth FC in the purchase of the football kits for their under 11’s team.
The team wore the kits for the first-time recently and look how smart they look!
John Grady who is responsible for securing funds for the team also added: “I'd like to reiterate our thanks to JCW for sponsoring our team. Running a junior football team is not only an emotional rollercoaster but also financially challenging at times, dependent on volunteers to pull together and make it happen. We have very limited funds to pay for the facilities, referees, training equipment as well as the kit the players wear, and here lies a seasonal challenge!
“Our team are currently U11's and the players are starting to grow at different rates and each year we find ourselves with a question as to how we raise the funds to ensure the children have the right kit. With JCW kindly sponsoring our team we've been able to provide new kit to all players, meaning the funds we do have can be invested in some of the training aids that we've been needing to update.
“A big thank you to JCW for supporting our team and enabling 15 young children to continue to play football with Lutterworth Athletic.”
The team play in the Leicestershire Foxes Sunday League, and we can’t wait to check out matches in action.
If you are a supplier or local business reading this, please consider getting in touch with your local football club to find out ways you could support them. Funding a youth football club is an important step in providing the local youth with access to the sport, and for us it is a rewarding journey as well.
