Annette BATHHALF Update
Leicester office administrator Annette completed the 2024 Bath Half Marathon in March and managed to raise an amazing 137% of her original target for Alzheimer’s Society.
Although Annette has completed the BATHHALF many times over the years, the day wasn’t without its challenges. She knew it would be a little bit different due to now suffering from Arthritis and Bronchiectasis. However, with the motivation of raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society, as well as having her generous supporters in her mind, she successfully finished the Marathon!
On the day…
In addition to the expected struggles with her arthritis, bad back, knee issues and muscle cramps, the air was also unexpectedly warm and humid for a day in March! As well as the challenges, a missed turn also added an unnecessary number of miles to her course. However, none of these bothered high spirited Annette, and she completed the route slightly faster than her husband who was participating with her.
The aftermath…
“It was really hard work!” she exclaimed! Annette had to crawl up and down the stairs on her hands and knees the day after and was feeling stiff for a few days.
Annette has decided that sharing photos of her during the Marathon isn’t a good idea, and we don’t blame her, we understand that it must have been a very tough day!
