Sophie’s Big Swim for Sports Relief
Comic Relief is a British charity organisation with two alternating sister projects that runs annually. This year our Sophie has committed herself to a 5k Swimathon challenge for Sports relief this month and JCW wants to help Sophie fund her goal of £300. Half of all money raised will go towards funding projects in the world’s poorest communities, and the other half will be used to transform lives right here in the UK. As well as helping these worthy causes Sports Relief gives the opportunity of getting fit!
Sophie has been training relentlessly for the past 5 months, now her training sessions are 3 times a week and her length speed is an impressive 45 second from the 60 she started with. Each length is 25 meters long, at this rate Sophie is hoping to complete her challenge in 3 and half hours.
Apart from the chlorine wrinkles and the occasional leg cramp in the pool, Sophie’s main concern is drinking too much pool water (she said drown). Let’s all hope she does not! Sophie will not be alone in this challenge; her family will be there to cheer her on, as well as a friend who will also be carrying out this selfless act with her.
